RAF Regiment Historic Flight

The RAF Regiment Historic Flight was established in 2010 and was first shown during an event at Belton House, the first RAF Regiment Depot.  Since then, the flight has deployed both in support of the RAF Regiment and at public events where this unique formation has been presented.  We have a small number or core members but can bring in others to support for specific displays.

All key members of the flight served within the RAF Regiment and hold a broad spectrum of recognised qualifications, as well as knowledge in areas of specific interest.

We have an agreement with the RAF Regiment Museum to display museum artifacts.  This incurs a cost which is then donated to the RAF Regiment Fund.

Our displays cover the time period 1921 - 1970 and include:
  • Small arms and uniforms
  • Support weapons
  • Vehicles
  • Interactive displays e.g. grenade throwing for children
  • WW2 aircrew survival school, including living off the land
  • First person talks on specific themes e.g. Iraq 1941
  • Ceremonial guard for formal functions
  • Regiment history talks
  • RAF support to the Regiment
